Growing up in the German countryside as a kid has always made me have a love for anything natural and healthy. I remember loving spending time with my grandma, picking the fruits and vegetables from the garden and then preparing them for cooking. This love for cooking and creating nourishing foods was also the reason why I decided to study cooking in culinary school and become a chef. It was all so exciting at first, working as a chef in a busy hotel kitchen but I soon realised that it is probably one of the most stressful jobs there is. Working long hours and not always cooking the most healthy meals, my health and mental state suffered and after having my two children at an early age of 23 my body was telling my it was time to change.

My skin was breaking out, my hair was lank, I constantly complained of being tired and bloated. On top of all those things I was also suffering from depression, anxiety and low self esteem. Finally it all became so overwhelming to me that I knew I had to take control of my life. After realizing that I needed to take control of my happiness and health I started switching unhealthy meals for more nutritiously balanced ones, stopped overeating and binge eating at night, and I also began to meditate every morning to stay on top of things.

All these changes have led me on an adventure to discover new things about myself and it is also the reason why I wanted to study nutrition. I have a great passion for health and wellness and I love learning how good food can prevent the body from becoming susceptible to illness.

The changes I have made didn’t happen over night and the reality is that it can take time to heal yourself and your unhealthy habits. It takes patience, experimentation, and dedication. A healthy lifestyle is nothing like fad dieting. It is achieved through implementing new habits, by changing the way you think about food and learning more about nutrition that works best for your body. Everyone is different, and has specific needs of their own.
